Saddleback Medical Group offers an aggressive approach to address the needs of bone loss. We have a strategically designed Osteoporosis Center for both women and men. Same day appointments are available and the patient will be in and out in 20 minutes.
Our Hologic Dual Energy X-ray Absorption Scanner consists of four x-rays: the Lumbar Spine, Hip and 2 Vertebral Assessments. The scan takes approximately 15 minutes while lying comfortably on a soft bed.
The preparation is simple: no calcium 24 hours prior to the test, and wear loose clothing with no zippers, metal or jewelry. After scanning, our technician educates the patient on Osteoporosis risk factors and how the test is scored. The preliminary test is sent to Dr. Henry for analyzing and review. The findings are summarized and the report is sent back to the technician and then forwarded to your referring physician.
