"I studied medicine for two reasons: to help people and for the intellectual challenge" says Dr. Kevin Ashby. "I believe in treating all patients as if they were family. I learned that philosophy as a third year medical student and it still makes sense to me," he says.
 
Dr. Ashby earned his Medical Degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his Residency at the University of California San Diego. There he received a Chief Medical Resident's Award for Teaching. After Residency, he taught at the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine for a year and went on to complete a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Harbor UCLA. He is the clinical instructor of medicine at UCLA.
 
A native of Chicago, Dr. Ashby has lived in Southern California for several years. In his free time he enjoys bicycling, listening to jazz, and being a mentor to medical students.
